The Camino Portugués, or Portuguese Way, is a revered pilgrimage route that traces its origins back to the Middle Ages when pilgrims from Portugal and beyond embarked on a journey to Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain. Spanning approximately 260 kilometers.
Starting from various points in Portugal, including Lisbon (less commonly), Porto, Vigo and Tui, pilgrims follow the yellow arrows and scallop shells—the iconic symbols of the Camino—as they traverse vineyards, forests, and rolling hills.
In recent years, the Portuguese route has become one of the most popular. Walkers are attracted to the idea of walking in two different countries. The Camino Portuguese is also one of the most accessible of the routes, requiring around 14 days of walking and being flatter than other routes.
Below you can find some of the route sections or options that we can help you to plan.
