Craft Beer Ho Chi Minh: East West Brewing Company
East West Brewing Company claims to be the first in house brewing and craft room in HCMC. We did wonder if they ACTUALLY brew the beer here as it’s so clean, but apparently they do!
The East West Brewing Company occupies a huge space on a prime street in District One. Inside, it feels airy and spacious, a little American. There’s always sports on the TV and the beer is good – it’s a perfectly pleasant way to spend an evening (or indeed an afternoon.) Try the Saigon Rose, if you like a fruity beer. But many other varieties are available.
Craft Beer Ho Chi Minh: Pasteur Street Brewing
If alleyway breweries with heavy metal and fruity beers is your thing, don’t hesitate to pop into Pasteur Street Brewery. Serving the smallest glass of beer I’ve ever seen, for a slightly eye watering price, I did still enjoy my visit here. The passionfruit IPA is a delight for the senses. This brewery also offers a tasting flight, Jasmine infused Ale all around.
Slightly confusingly, there are actually a number of possible Pasteur Street venues you can visit. One is small with an inside space and a petite upstairs terrace, which has no interesting views – best if you’re looking for a quick drink somewhere central aircon – location here. The other, shown below (and google maps link here), is a little more epic with a pool table and some good views of HCMC, but it’s quite far from the centre. There is a third one too, that has some good views, and a foosball table – map coords here.
Craft Beer Ho Chi Minh: Winking Seal Beer Company
Winking Seal Beer Company is one of the best craft beer places when it comes to Happy Hour, which runs from 18:00 to 20:00. This beer house also serves a Jasmine infused beer (IPA). They seem to be all the rage in HCMC. Stouts and a wide range of others are also available.
I think the Winking Seal Brewery has more of a party vibe, than say East West Brewing Company, perhaps because it’s a smaller venue so feels quite buzzy. This is also a good option if your drinking buddy is not a fan of beer – Winking Seal also sells wine and Hard Seltzer.
Craft Beer Ho Chi Minh: 7 Bridges Brewery and Tap Room
7 Bridges is a beer company founded in Danang. They have tap rooms in Hoi An, Hanoi and HCMC, so it’s a good brand to get familiar with if you’re travelling around Vietnam. In Hanoi, the taproom is a great find. It’s got a delightful deck with wooden tables overlooking the river. Perfect for a sunny day outing.
The beers are award winning, with a huge range of bottled beer and draft available. They also serve wine, for anyone who doesn’t enjoy a beer. Soak up your beers with a massive slice of pizza, other snacks available.

Craft Beer Ho Chi Minh: Horizon Brewing Company
The final best craft beer place in Ho Chi Minh City is Horizon Brewing Company. This venue is less well known that others, but equally worth a visit. It has a great outdoor space with large tables, super for bigger groups of visitors. The food is a little on the pricey side, but the beer is good and if you’re doing a tour of HCMC craft beer places, then this is worth a visit.
