PLANNING AHEAD MEANS YOU’RE MORE LIKELY TO DO IT
Research shows that when we make a plan, we are more likely to follow through with it.
How many of you have said that you want to walk the Camino de Santiago in your lifetime? Yet, it’s possible that years have gone by and you haven’t done it. Make the plan (or better yet, let us make it for you) and you can make it happen this year!
TAKE THE STRESS AWAY
You’re going to have lots to do in the run up to your trip – packing, training and putting your out of office on for a start. The last thing you need is to have to plan your entire route – instead, get someone to plan for you and relax.

GET THE MOST FROM YOUR TRIP
When you’ve finished a day of walking, the last thing you will want to do is plan the next few days. Trust us. We’ve done it many times. Instead, use your free time to journal, rest, socialise, drink wine and indulge! You will have earned it.
PLANNING IS IMPORTANT
2024 was the busiest year yet on the Camino de Santiago and walking is more popular than ever. It’s so great that more people are choosing to walk the amazing long-distance paths in Europe, but with more people, comes a bit of a race for beds. It’s more important than ever to have a plan for your journey.

YOUR WALK IS INDIVIDUAL, JUST LIKE YOU
We all choose to embark on a long-distance hike or pilgrimage for different reasons and each of us wants individual things from the adventure. Our intake form and consultation process will help you to focus in on exactly what you want and need from your journey. Then, as if by magic, we will make it happen for you.
PLAN LESS, WALK MORE
Planning for a long-distance hike can be stressful. You work hard and don’t need the stress on your vacation. Spend less time planning before you go and more time enjoying the adventure. Lotus Eaters Travel will plan your daily walking stages, so you don’t have to.

WE WANT YOU TO HAVE THE BEST TIME
We set up this business after walking the Camino de Santiago for the first time and being blown away by how wonderful, enriching and fun it was. Our passion for walking long distance routes is real and we want everyone to have the chance to experience this. Our loyalty is to you and ensuring that you have THE BEST TIME.

We can help you with a bespoke itinerary for pilgrimages like Camino de Santiago in Spain, the Via Francigena in Italy, The Magna Via Francigena in Sicily, The English Camino in England and St Olav’s Way in Norway.
We can also offer itinerary planning services for fantastic coastal walks, like The Corfu Trail, the Malta & Gozo Coastal Trails and The Fisherman’s Trail in Portugal.
Throughout 2026, we will be releasing more routes.

STEP 1: TELL US WHAT YOU WANT
Fill out our client intake form to tell us about your requirements for your dream walking vacation.
OR TALK WITH A ONE OF THE TEAM
Schedule a consultation call if you’d rather talk to someone. This is useful if you’re not sure of the walking route you want to choose.
You’ll hear from us within a few days to discuss your individual requirements. At this stage, if you decide to go ahead, we will direct you to our payment process.
STEP 2: WE CREATE YOUR CUSTOM ITINERARY
We will take 14 days to analyse your intake form or consultation call and come up with the best possible itinerary for you. If we have any extra questions for you, we might get in touch at this stage.
STEP 3: YOU RECEIVE YOUR ITINERARY
You’ll receive your customised itinerary, this includes daily walking stages, recommendations for accommodation and some information on cultural and gastronomic highlights along the route. We will also include a free packing list for you. You will also have the chance to request minor changes to your itinerary at this stage.

MORE ABOUT EMMA
My favourite Camino: The Camino Mozarabe.
What I like to eat & drink on the Camino: No question, a cold glass of Albariño with some squid.
What I look for in an albergue: I like my albergues to be a bit “extra”, a swimming pool, decent bathrooms, proper linen and communal suppers with oodles of wine.
Best long distance hike, other than the Camino: Via Francigena through Tuscany or the GR131 in Fuerteventura.
On my hiking bucket list: The Dry Stone Route in Mallorca, or the Shikoku Pilgrimage in Japan.

MORE ABOUT JOHN
My favourite Camino: The Norte – the first route we walked.
What I like to eat & drink on the Camino: It’s got to be Estrella Galicia beer with a side of Padron Peppers.
What I look for in an albergue: The practical things – a plug by the bed, a lamp and lockers.
Best long distance hike, other than the Camino: St Olav’s Way in Norway – very special during mid-summer.
On my hiking bucket list: The Great Glen Way in Scotland, The Rheinsteig in Germany and I’ve got my eye on the trans-Bhutan.
