19 BEST LUXURY HOTELS ON THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO.
We are firm believers that a little bit of luxury can enhance any travel experience. And walking the Camino de Santiago is no different. Whether a fancy hotel, a slap up meal, or even just a glass of wine or coffee in a nice spot. It’s all about romanticising the experience for me.
In this blog post, you’ll find 19 luxury hotels on the Camino de Santiago, take your pick along the three main routes– the Camino Frances, the Camino del Norte and the Camino Portuguese.
Are pilgrims allowed to stay in luxury hotels on the Camino de Santiago?
There can be a wee bit of judgement from fellow pilgrims if you walk the Camino and dare to dream about staying in a luxury hotel. Is it OK to opt for a little bit of opulence on your Camino journey?
I think we have to go back to first principles here – every Camino journey is entirely unique. You don’t have to stay in albergues with dodgy bunk beds every single night to get a genuine Camino experience. Your Camino experience is your own. For many people, the Camino is a once in a life time event. And, if your idea of heaven is a luxury hotel on the Camino – then you should go for it.
Walking the Camino is hard – physically and sometimes emotionally. So why not treat yourself to a night of total R&R? If it’s in budget for you and you want to, don’t let anyone put you off!
